Hello faithful followers of Jimm McShane's website. I am a long time friend of Jimm's and am here to give you a wrap-up of any things that may have happened the past week in a column I call, "The Weekly Wrap-up." So, here goes.

The major event of this past week were the elections that happened on Tuesday across the country. I shall refer to it as, "Black Tuesday." Now, I don't know what states any of you may be from, but being based out of Minnesota, that was the main state I followed for the elections. I can say that I am nothing but disappointed in the choices my fellow Minnesotans made. Our new governor could have been a good man, such as Roger Moe, or Waseca County native Tim Penny, but instead our new governor is Tim Pawlenty. The self proclaimed "poster boy" for something or other that apparently caught enough Republicans eyes to win him the election. The major problem was Democrats splitting their votes, 25% for Roger Moe and 25% for Tim Penny, which left the window open for Pawlenty. My other problem is with the senatorial election. Our new Senator is Norm Coleman. If you've seen any of his commercial advertisements apparently people voted for him because his daughter said that if he said you were going to get ice cream, you got ice cream. Which is ridiculous. Also on Tuesday, Republicans took control of the Senate, and retained control of the House. Which now means our country is now run by Republicans in the White House, in the Senate, and in the House of Representatives. So for any of you hard working middle class Democrats like me....Watch out.
